Designed and released by Karl Lagerfeld in 2011 AW collection, Le Boy Bag is inspired by Coco Chanel’s boyish and can-do attitude in her designs, and due to Coco Chanel’s passionate nine-year love affair with polo player Arthur Edward Capel CBE, as known as Boy Capel, until his passing away in 1919.

On the design, Chanel Le Boy bag has been presented in bold, square and avant-
garde ways; one of the most distinguishable characteristics of Le Boy bag is its lock closure, with a prominent double CC center, there have been slight variations over the years. The bag has been available in six different sizes seasonally over time; mini, small, old medium, new medium, large, and XL.

Due to its versatility, Chanel Le Boy bag has been crafted in many materials, from the most common leathers are caviar, lambskin, patent, and goatskin to many options of fabrics available over the years, such as tweed, velvet, canvas, PVC, denim, feathers, and many other unique editions. While due to the environmental and supplied chain concerns, the House of Chanel announced in 2018 that they will no longer be producing products with material made from exotic skins.
